PH Snowball

The PH Snowball is considered a scaled down version of the PH Louvre made for the Adventist Church in Skodsborg, Denmark. Unlike the PH Louvre, the number of shades is reduced to eight, mounted on three rods, and the diameter of the luminaire is also reduced due to the fact that it was intended for spaces with lower ceilings. This fixture was first introduced with the PH 5 and PH Pinecone, but it did not receive the same attention as the other two pendant lights. However, a redesign and reintroduction of the PH Snowball in 1983 revived this fixture. Today, it is made with white shades that have a glossy top and a matte bottom. The top of the shades is glossy to create a sparkling light. The lower part is matte to avoid reflections from the light source.

The luminaire emits a diffuse, comfortable and glare-free light. The interior surfaces are matte while the upper surfaces are glossy to create light reflections and thus diffuse the light evenly around the luminaire. When the light is switched on, the upper part is illuminated while the lower part remains dark.
